Pre Algebra has a quiz on Wednesday

English classes have work on their vocabulary and reading assignments

In World History I, Charmarie, Angela, Joseph, and Patrick completed their powerpoint presentations. The rest are going on Wednesday

In World History III, Justinia, Gaby, Howard, and Lizzie have completed their powerpoint presentations. The rest are presenting on Wednesday.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope you are all well.

We want to remind every one that tomorrow is a half day.

Renaissance Festival is on 2/16/05

Valentines Day will be a half day because Site Based will meet that day to go over the school improvement plan.

Dr. Williams and Mr. Gordons wedding is 45 days away.

Happy belated birthday to Danya

Amanda and Corey are doing well and having fun in their classes at Mesa Community College. Amanda has been accepted into the Health Profession Program at EVIT. Great Job Amanda.

Robert Houston has been made a member of Phi Theta Kappa for having a 4.0 GPA and over 12 hours of college credit. Great Job Robbie.

Do not forget to do Japanese and Spanish homework

Law students have to prepare additional information for their legal teams. Several students have make up essays to turn in tomorrow on " Separate but Equal"

Announcements for 1/25/05

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hope every one is well.

There is Japanese and Spanish homework.

One group in U.S. History/Government still has to do their powerpoint on Thursday.

Legal Teams in Law Class have assignments due on Thursday as well as four paragraph essay on Supreme Court and why it ruled against Segregation in Brown versus the Board of Education.

Remember Site Based Council will meet tomorrow

We hope every one is well and has a great weekend.

School Evaluation Forms were sent out to the students. Please fill them out and give back by Monday. They are important to our new School Improvement Plan.

After School Tutoring Forms were sent to juniors who have to take the AIMS test. Please return those by Monday.

Algebra Two and Geometry have quizzes on Monday.

World History students have to continue working on their powerpoints.

English students were researching horror/sci fi writers

Science Portfolio and Human Anatomy students are working on special projects.

Announcements for 1/20/05

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope every one is well.

We want to thank Mrs. Falvey, Mrs. Kennedy, and Mrs Houston for helping chaperone students to the Pirates of Penzance. It was a great experience for the students.

The next field trip is the Renaissance Festival on February 16

After school on Friday we are having another information meeting on the end of the year trip to Washington DC. This is an excellent opportunity for students to see our nations capital.

Law Students will be put in teams to start building legal briefs on a mock case involving public school segregation between genders. The teams are as follows

Team One: How a Bill becomes law in the Arizona Legislature: Howard, Justina, Danyol, Charmarie, and Lizzie

Team Two: The Historical Tradition of Gender Segregated and Gender Coed Schools: James, Ashley, Reylin, Danya, and Patricia

Team Three; The Constitutionality of Segregation according to gender in traditional public schools: Elizabeth, Cody, Gaby, Angela, and Joseph.


U.S History and World History students work on their power points. U.S. history students have a five paragraph essay on whether President Bushs inauguration speech was a good one with three reasons for their viewpoint.

English students need to work on their drafts

Japanese and Spanish students always have homework.

Announcements for 11/12/05

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope every one is well.

The Public Policy Class is raising funds for the tsunami Relief Effort. The last day is Friday. Please help out. Students in the Public Policy Class are also participating in a Service Learning Project at Tempe Christian School in school activities. The kids had a great time their first day.

Japanese and Spanish assignments are due tomorrow.

Pirates of Penzance next Wednesday Chaperones needed.

Washington Trip Information Meeting is at 11:00 on Friday just after the half day.

Renaissance Festival is a little over a month away.

Hope everyone is well. Please remember the following dates:

1/12: Half Day; Site Based Council Meeting afterwards. Periods one and two will meet

1/14: Half Day; Staff meets afterwards to start realigning curriculum. Periods three and four will meet.

1/19: School will attend 10:30 showing of Pirates of Penzance. CHAPERONES ARE NEEDED.

1/28: Half Day: AIMS workshop

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Law Students have to finish five paragraph essay on the following question: Is it better to have a legal system where the innocent are wrongly punished or a legal system where the guilty are wrongly set free. Give three reasons.

Japanese and Spanish students have homework to complete

We need chaperones for the Pirates of Penzance on 1/19/05

Site Based Council will meet on Wednesday 1/12 at 11:30. That is a half day. Furthermore, Friday 1/14 is a half day because staff will be meeting to realign the curriculum.

We will also be off on 1/17/05 for Martin Luther King day.

REPORT CARDS ARE OUT. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING STUDENTS WHO MADE THE SEMESTER HONOR ROLL:

Amanda Alcala, James Atherton, Elizabeth Barnes, Elizabeth Doty, Jessica Falvey, Tim Goodrich, Nellie Ann Holguin, Robert Houston, Howard Lanus, Charmarie Lechuga, Larissa Matthews, Cody Milford, Cory Milford, Angela Spadafino, Joseph Spadafino, Nichole Van Enwyck, and Danya Woodhams.

Amanda, Elizabeth Doty, Tim, Nellie Ann, Charmarie, Cody, Cory, Joseph, and Danya are in the running for a free laptop if they stay on the honor roll for the next two quarters and come back next year.

For having the highest grade average of the students who did not already have a laptop, Angela Spadafino received one today. GREAT JOB ANGELA.

The other honor roll students are eligible for a $250 college scholarship if they remain on the honor roll and come back next year.

Japanese students need to complete their assignment for Thursday.

U.S. History students have to research their biographical power point.

Law students have bonus assignment on members of the Supreme Court.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year to Every One. We hope very one has a safe, successful, and prosperous New Year. Some Dates to watch out for.

January 3, 2005: School Resumes: Students get their spring schedule and revised academic contract for parents and students to sign.

January 4, 2005: Report Cards for First Semester will be released. The student with the highest grade average who was on the honor roll for both quarters and did not receive a laptop last year will receive one.

January 7, 2005: Powerpoint Presentations are due in World History I and III. Information will be given in class tomorrow.

January 12: Half Day: Site Based Council Convenes

January 14: Half Day: Staff Curriculum Meeting

January 17: Martin Luther King Day School is closed

January 19: The Pirates of Penzance at the Arizona Theater Company. Chaperones are needed.
