Announcements and Assignments for Friday, September 29

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope every one is well.

Student Council President Gabrielle Ritter and Former Student Council President Brent Davila have been nominated to represent Grand Canyon Preparatory at the National Student Leadership Foundation in Washington D.C. . If accepted, they will meet other student leaders like them and hear national leaders present like former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O Connor and Senator John Edwards.

Please remember tomorrow is the application deadline for the Italian trip. Please email or call if there are any questions.

Please remember that Friday is a half day with periods three and four meeting. School will end at 11:00 a.m.

The Hiking Club had a great first hike last Saturday at South Mountain where they saw a baby coyote. More exciting hikes will follow through out the year.

There is a free showing of Swan Lake at the Desert Foothills Park (between Ahwatukee Parkway and Chandler boulevard) on Friday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m.

PROGRESS REPORTS ARE OUT. WE ARE VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF ALL THE CHILDREN. GREAT JOB. PLEASE ADVISE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR CHILD'S TEACHER. AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING MAY BE REQUIRED FOR SELECTED STUDENTS. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED NEXT WEEK IN THIS REGARD.

THE STUDENTS WERE PLEASED TO WATCH A SHOWING OF "THE SPINSTER AND THE THEIF" FROM THE ARIZONA OPERA TRAVELING COMPANY. IT WAS A WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE THAT THE KIDS ENJOYED.
