Announcments and Assignments for Wednesday

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope every one is well. Please excuse the lateness of this announcement. There may be revisions

ATTENTION STUDENTS IN GRADES 10-12: PAPERS ARE DUE IN MRS. WRIGHTS HISTORY COURSES BY WEDNESDAY. BOTH MRS. WRIGHT AND MISS FOY HAVE MADE GREAT EFFORTS IN TEACHING YOU HOW TO PRODUCE A QUALITY RESEARCH PAPER. FAMILIES WILL BE CALLED OF THE STUDENTS WHO DO NOT TURN IN THE ASSIGNMENTS.

ATTENTION STUDENTS IN GRADE 8 HISTORY: CURRENT EVENT ARTICLES FOR DISCUSSION WILL BE DUE EVERY CLASS SESSION BETWEEN NOW AND THE END OF THE SEMESTER.

ATTENTION STUDENTS IN GRADES 6-8: SCIENTIST POWER POINTS WILL BE DUE ON WEDNESDAY. THEY SHOULD BE EMAILED TO GRANDCANYONPREP@AOL.COM.

Grade Eight English students: Sentences and Synonyms and Antonyms are due on Wednesday. Vocabulary test is on Friday.

Grades 6-9 students who have turned in permission slips and fees are going to the Challenger Space Center tomorrow. We want to thank Mrs. Doom and Mr. Smith who have volunteered to be chaperone's.

We also want to thank all the families who have helped out the school through out the year. You have all been great and tremendous. You have helped make this year the great success it has been.

We hope every one is well and has a great weekend.

We are pleased to report that the following students have passed the Reading and Writing AIMS: Donald Arbagast, Michael Giovanetti, Rebecca Kielsky, Cody Milford, Collin Reeves, and Joseph Spadafino. Congratulations to Tim Goodrich and Justina Waclawik for passing the AIMS Reading Test. Congratulations to Josh Crowley, Victoria Terrazas, Geno Romero, and Rosie Virgin for passing the AIMS writing tests. Students have their individual student reports. High School Math scores, and grades 6-9 AIMS/Terra Nova scores should be released between June and July. They may be released at different intervals.

Please remember that Tuesday and Wednesday are AIMS examination days for grades 6-8. Grades 9-10 will attend First and Second Hour regular classes those days. ATTENDANCE AND SCHOOL UNIFORMS ARE MANDATORY.

Permission slips to the May 1 Astronaut workshop have been distributed to students in grades 6-9. We hope they all can attend because this is an excellent experience.

AIMS and Thomas Pappas

Dear Parents and Guardians,

AIMS and Terra Nova Testing will occur on April 11, 12, 17, and 18. The student with the highest overall performance will receive a $50 gift certificate to Best Buy.

We want to wish all our students the best of luck on their tests.

We have initiated discussions with the Thomas Pappas School for Homeless Children to link our Service Learning Program with assisting their children. If everything goes well. Our students (seniors and some juniors) will go to Pappas and tutor/mentor students in dire need. We will also link our food and holiday drives to these children. More information will follow after everything is organized.

We hope every one had an excellent weekend.

Please remember to turn in re enrollment forms. Please call if you have any questions. We look forward to your child returning for the 2007/08 school year.

We are hosting an open house on Saturday April 14 for prospective new students. Please spread the word.

Selected sophomores and juniors will be attending testing at Mesa Community College tomorrow during fourth hour. Please be sure to have permission slip, concurrent information forms, and photo identification available.

Thursday is a half day with some students attending the showing of Cyrano De Berjaic

School is closed this Friday.

AIMS examinations will be held on April 11, 12, 17, and 18 for grades 6-10. These days will be half days.
