PLEDGE DRIVE ANNOUNCEMENT

PLEDGE DRIVE COMPETITION

November 5, 2008

Yesterday, voters in Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, Gilbert, and Higley approved $30,600,000 in budget overrides and bonds to help the Chandler, Tempe, and Higley School Districts maintain their school districts. Charter Schools do not have this benefit. Costs are rising and our state funding remains the same. We want to continue the programs that our students benefit from and enjoy. Our philosophy is to have an environment where everyone has a place, gets the attention they deserve, and receives " big school academics in a small school setting." In order to continue to provide individualized attention, rich curriculum, and small classes, charter schools are increasingly dependent on their families and communities to meet their budget requirements with fundraising programs. This program was suggested by some of our families and we feel that it will be fun. Our goal is to raise $35,000 (or $500 per Grand Canyon Prep family). This is how the competition will proceed:

We all know friends, families, co-workers, or employers that need tax deduction or tax credits (If you have any questions about tax credits, please contact your accountant or us). This is an opportunity to raise funds to maintain and expand our school programs and also help your tax situation. Any donation is valuable and tax deductible.

If our goal of $35,000 is met, prizes will be awarded to the top seven families. These prizes are

First Prize: Free Trip to Japan or the cash value of the trip
Second Prize: $1000
Third Prize: $700
Fourth Prize: $500
Fifth Prize: $250
Sixth Prize: $200
Seventh Prize: $100

If all the families of the student participate, there is a one in ten chance of winning a prize. The competition will start November 10 and end on December 16. If we have met our goal, the drawing will be held on December 17 at 2:00 p.m.

Please contact us if there are any questions and take care.

Sincerely

David Gordon
School Director
