Announcements and Assignments for Thursday/ Friday

We hope you are all well.
This will be our last general email/blog announcement for the semester.

We wish every one a great and safe holiday season and we look forward to seeing you on January 5 when the new semester starts.

We hope you can join us for our Winter Concert this evening. It starts at 7:00 p.m.

It is not too late to submit a tax credit donation to the school.

We still need a couple of families to volunteer to help wrap gifts at Changing Hands on December 23 and 24 from 12:00 t0 3:00 p.m. Please advise if you can help out.

We are looking forward to our Winter Concert Tomorrow evening starting at 7:00 p.m. and we hope you can all attend. We sent home a flyer with the students today.

B Day finals/project submittals will take place tomorrow for some B Day courses except Foreign Language. Below is the Final Examination Schedule for Thursday and Friday.

December 18: Foreign Language: 8:00 to 9:30
English: 9:35 to 11:05
History: 11:30 to 1:00

Announcements and Assignments for Monday

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope you are all well.

The Drama, Music, and Japanese students gave outstanding performances to an audience of Senior Citizens at the Cahill Senior Center. Students who received special recognition were Clifford Alexander and Reese Lentino. Great job guys and I know you will give a great performance at our Winter Show on Tuesday December 16th at 7:00 p.m. All are invited as we will have a Penne with Meat Sauce dinner (catered from Papa Razzinis) for sale. We will also serve other refreshment and conduct a bake sale. We do need volunteers to contribute delicious sweets to the sale. Please advise. Mrs. Howard has donated a beautiful Mary Kay Cosmetics Basket ($60.00 value) to raffle off. We will hold the drawing during the Winter Concert Tuesday December 16. You do not have to be present to win. Tickets are $1.00 each or $8.00 for $5.00 or $20.00 for 10.

Please remember that final exams are next week. Please consult the schedule we sent you earlier in the month if there are any questions.

There have been several inquiries from families that requested after school care. We will be instituting it next semester. The hours are 2:30 to 6:00 from Monday to Friday and the cost is $125.00 per month. We can also accommodate parents who need occasional after school care. The charge for this would be $10.00 per hour. Please contact us as soon as possible if you are in need of this service at 480 233 3622.

We will be wrapping gifts at Changing Hands Bookstore on December 23 and 24 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. We are looking for assistance. Please let us know if you would like to help.

We are still collecting food, clothing, money, and gifts for the students at Children's First Academy (formerly Pappas). Please help out.

Keep the Pennies coming and we are still accepting tax credit donations.

Congradulations to Bobby Diaz for scoring on the 81st percentile on the PSAT this last October. Good Job.

The Penny Drive is going very well. Keep Bringing Them In. The Ninth Grade has a slight lead over the Middle School Students. It is not too late for the Sophomore or Junior/Senior Group to Catch Up.

Students chose their second semester electives today. Please discuss your child's choices and contact me if there are any questions.

Announcements and Assignments for Wednesday

We hope you are all well.

The students on the Brainstorm Team will be taping their episode tomorrow. We are taping at the Cox Studios in Phoenix at 17602 North Black Canyon Highway, Phoenix Arizona 85053. We would love it if some of the students and families came and cheered our team on. We are leaving at 2:30 p.m. The Team Members are Joseph Spadafino, Clifford Alexander, and Christopher Kampsen. The Alternate Team Members are Alyssa Brimacombe, Bobby Diaz, D.J. Owsley, Donald Arbgast, and Andrew Gallini.

We will also be performing at the Cahill Senior Center on Friday at 11:00 a.m.. Mr. Gragos' Japanese Kids will be singing Holiday Carols. Mr. Miltons Drama students will be performing a skit and Mr. Prillamans Guitar students will perform some Holiday Musical Numbers.

Please remember that we are still selling items from the Holiday Boutique and we are still accepting Tax Credit Donations.

We have emailed the School Newsletter and it should be on our web site very soon.

Please remember to fill out The Parent Surveys we emailed earlier this week. Your input is valued. Please advise if you will give it to your child to fill out.

The Holiday Boutique will remain open until Break. There are still many wonderful items available for purchase.

Please remember to pay any outstanding fees by Monday.

Students will be choosing second semester electives on Tuesday.

Do not forget to shop at Changing Hands this weekend and mention our school so we get twenty percent of the purchase. We are also still accepting Tax Credit Donations.

The Brain Storm Team will be taping on Tuesday December 9.

Mr. Gragos Japanese Students, Mr. Prillamans Guitar students, and Mr. Miltons Drama children will be performing at the Cahill Senior Center on Friday December 12 and our Winter Performance on Tuesday December 16 at 7:00 p.m. There will be a Pasta Dinner catered from Papa Razzinis that includes Penne with Meat Sauce with salad and bread. That will cost $7.00. We will also be selling soft drinks, pop corn, and movie candy. Please notify us by Friday December 12 if you would like to purchase the Pasta Dinner.

Announcements and Assignments for Friday

We hope you are all well.

Coach Steve Harmon is proud to announce the members of our first Brainstorm Team and its alternates. The Team Members are: Joseph Spadafino, Clifford Alexander, and Christopher Kampsen. The Team Alternates will be Alyssa Brimacombe, Donald Arbgast, Bobby Diaz, Andrew Gallini, and D.J. Owsley. We will be taping at Cox Communications at 4:15 on December 9. We are competing against Tempe Accelerated and Sunridge Charter. We know all of our students will do Grand Canyon Prep Proud. We hope some of our families will come with our team and cheer them on.

The Penny Drive is going strong with the 11/12 and 6/7 graders in the lead. Please remember to bring in the pennies. The grades that collect the most change by the end the school year will get a Pizza Party with all the bells and whistles.

Our holiday boutique will be open for two more days. We have lots of stocking stuffers from 50 cents to $5.00.

* Stuffed Animals are between $3.00 and $4.00

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving Break.

We want to thank the following families of the following students who helped us holiday wrap at Barnes and Noble this weekend. It was very enjoyable. They are: Camille and Clifford Alexander, Sam Hankins, Felipe Loyola, Breydon Chaffe Smith, and Anton Stadeicke.

Please remember that we are also holiday wrapping at Changing Hands from 12- 3 on December 23 and December 24 and we would welcome assistance then as well.

We also found out from Changing Hands that the promotion of buying merchandise from them and they would donate twenty percent to us if you mention our school will continue in December so please do not forget.

We are also doing our Penny Fundraising Drive and are still collecting Box Tops for Education and Campbell's labels. We are also still taking tax credit donations.

The Holiday Boutique is open at the front lobby of the school this week. Please stop in and see the many wonderful holiday ornaments and fixtures we are selling.

Next week the students will be taping Brainstorm. On December 12, some students will be performing at The Cahill Senior Center and we are having our winter Musical and Drama performance on the night of December 16.
