Announcements for Wednesday
Dear Parents and Guardians
GREAT NEWS!!!! GRAND CANYON COLLEGE PREPARATORY ACADEMY HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY THE STATE OF ARIZONA AS A PERFORMNG SCHOOL WITH 82 PERCENT OF THE STUDENTS SHOWING IMPROVEMENT LAST YEAR. EARLIER THIS YEAR, GRAND CANYON WAS CITED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR MAKING ADEQUATE YEARLY PROGRESS. WE ARE VERY PROUD OF OUR STUDENTS AND PLEDGE TO ALL OUR FAMILIES THAT WE WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE THE SAME EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO ALL OUR STUDENTS.
October 14: Several students have been selected to go to Mesa Community College next week to take a placement test to ascertain if they can take dual enrollment classes: These students are Nichole VanEnwyck, Angela Spadafino, Amanda Alcala, Nellie Ann Holguin, Danielle Yount, Nathan Hatch, Daniel Woodhams, Corey Milford, and Howard Lanus. I also want to take the time to recognize that James Atherton (who just earned his Eagle Scout credentials) and Robert Houston are currently taking college level courses this year.
We also want to thank Mrs. Yount and Mrs. Houston for being chaperones on today's Field Trip to the Riparian Park in Gilbert. Mr. Boothe did a great job in organizing it and it was a good choice for the first Science trip of the year. Next month we will be going to the Challenger Space Center to go on the Mars Simulation.
If there are any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to post one. Take care.
