We hope you are all well.

Tomorrow is a Half Day with grades six through ten (and selected juniors) taking either the High School AIMS Math/Terra Nova or Middle School AIMS. One Hundred Percent Attendance is required.

Please check out the school web site and inquire about the Summer Robotics Camp at both Grand Canyon Prep in June and at ASU in July. It is an excellent enrichment program for all students and we hope you will research and take advantage of this tremendous opportunity.

Announcements for Monday

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope you are well.

Third Quarter Report Cards have been released and we will contact you to arrange parent teacher conferences.

The Third Quarter Honor Roll is now on the blog. The top three students are Noa Takahashi, Clifford Alexander, and Cameron Hill. The top three students on the commendation list are Alyssa Brimacobe, Bentzi Kielsky, and Connor Nicol. The Commendation Lists are posted through out the school. Students still in the running for a lab top computer if they remain on the honor roll and return for the first forty days next year are: Denise Valenzuela, Jaclyn Wechsler, Drew Kistler, Anton Staedicke. Students who are still in the running for $250 towards college ifthey graduate from here are : Camille Alexander, Clifford Alexander, Andrew Gallni, D.J. Owsley, and Joseph Spadafino.

Please remember that AIMS/Terra Nova Tests will be held all next week. One Hundred Percent attendance is required for all the test takers. There will b half days on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

The League of Students, our student government organization sponsored by Mrs. Burnquist met today and discussed topics ranging from graduation to open house tours. They will meet again after school on Friday.

We hope you are all well.

Thursday March 26 will be a half day with periods one and two meeting.

Third Quarter Report Cards will be released on Monday. Please excuse the brief delay as we are having some difficulties with the school master software. Below C and A calls will also be made on Monday.

Next week, we will be scheduling appointments with all the families to discuss summer school and the 2009/10 School Year. There are excellent opportunities for enrichment in Summer School including Robotics camp.

We need students and families to come to the Cox Studios on Tuesday afternoon to root for the Grand Canyon Prep Brainstorm team as they enter the playoff round against Mountain View and North Pointe Academy.

Please remember that 2008/09 Yearbooks are on sale and ask Mrs. G or Mr. Slusser for additional information.

We have heard from the students that are in Japan and they are having a wonderful time. It is not too late to sign up for the Italy trip and receive $200 off the trip total if you do so by March 31. Please contact Mr. Gordon for more details.

We will be hosting open houses for prospective new students on Saturday March 28, April 11, and April 25. Please tell your friends and family about the great program we offer.

Keep the pennies coming as our penny drive is still on going until the end of the year.

This is the schedule for AIMS/Terra Nova Testing starting on Monday March 30, 2009 and ending on Friday April 3, 2009. One Hundred Percent Attendance is required for these examinations. Monday, March 30, Wednesday April 1 and Thursday April 2 will be half days and students will be released at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 31 and Friday April 3 will be full days. Below is the schedule for the AIMS test. We will advise if there are any adjustments that need to be made to the schedule.March 30 (HALF DAY): Grades Six through Eight Writing: Testing sign up will start at 8:30 a.m. Mrs. Burnquist, Mr. Gordon, and Mr. Virgin will proctor. Test will held in Rooms One and Two. Grades Nine and Ten Students, with selected Juniors will be with Mr. Harmon and Mr. Smith. Seniors will be with Mr. Slusser. March 31 (FULL DAY): Grades Six through Eight Reading and Math Part One. Testing sign up will start at 8:30 a.m.. Mr. Milton, Mr. Slusser, and Mr. Gordon will proctor in rooms one and two.April 1 (HALF DAY): High School Math and Terra Nova Exams for students in Grades Nine, Ten. and selected Juniors.Testing sign up will start at 8:30 a.m. Mr. Harmon and Mr. Smith will proctor with Mr. Gordon. The test will be in rooms five and six. Grades Six through Eight Students will take Reading and Math Part Two. Announcements and Assignments for Thursday

We hope you are all well.

Please remember that we have a full day on Friday as the the third quarter will end. Next week is Spring Break. We return to school with the start of the fourth quarter on Monday March 16. Third Quarter Grades will be released on Friday March 20.

The first round of Brainstorm where Grand Canyon Prep triumphed will broadcast on Cox Cable on March 11. Please watch. We will be competing in the second round on March 24.

Please advise if there are any questions on the Summer School Schedule for June and July. We are very excited about what we are offering including the Summer Robotics Camp.

After Spring Break, we will be contacting families and setting up appointments for conferences because we would like your input as we build and improve upon the program for the 2009/10 school year. One item that we are pleased to announce is that next year, there will no longer be monthly fees for Robotics or Music courses. We look forward to meeting with you.
