We hope you are all well.

Please remember that next weeks schedule is as follows:
Monday: Memorial Day Holiday No Classes
Tuesday: Last full day for B Day; Spring Performance at 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday: Last full day for A Day
Thursday: Final Exams for Foreign Language, History, and English. Students are released at 1:00 p.m.
Friday: Final Exams for Mathematics and Science: Students are released at 11:00 a.m. Graduation and Award Ceremonies at 7:00 p.m.

Please also remember that we have a half day this Friday with all the classes meeting for 40 minutes.

We have signed up to participate in Brainstorm for the second year in a row.

We have joined the Charter Athletic Association. More information will follow on our sports teams.

We had an outstanding first meeting of our school Parent Organization. More details will follow.

Our next open houses for new students will be June 6 and June 13.

Please remember that we have a raffle on the evening of our performances on May 26. Tickets are a dollar. There are two ways to win. The person who sells the most tickets will receive ten percent of the earnings. A person with the winning raffle ticket will win 50 percent of the earnings. The School winnings will go towards Grand Canyon Prep extracurricular activities. Refreshments will also be sold.

Tomorrow is also the party for the Middle School students who won the penny drive this year.

Please remember that our Awards and Graduation Ceremonies will be held at 7:00 p.m. We are proud to have Corey Woods of the Tempe City Council as our guest speaker.

People who are interested in joining the Swim Team will meet with Coach Prillaman on May 12 at 11:15 a.m. Meetings for other teams will be announced shortly.

Please remember to turn in your summer school or Robotics Camp Registration Form.

The ownership at the Subway we have done business with the last three years has changed hands and raised prices for sandwiches. As a result, we will have Pizza for a hot lunch every day for the remainder of the school year. We will have an alternative menu in place when school resumes next year. Please contact us if there are any questions.

We hope every one is well and had a great weekend.

We are very happy to announce that there has been improvement on the performance of our sophomore students on the 2008/09 Reading and Writing AIMS tests from last year. Special congratulations to Clifford Alexander, Cameron Hill, Bentzi Kielsky, and D.J. Owsley for scoring in the exceeds category on either Reading or Writing. Thank you also to Mrs. Burnquist and Mr. Virgin for providing great instruction to the students. We have let most students know who scored what and we will be releasing reports later in the week.

There are winners in the Science Fair and they will be announced at the assembly at the end of the half day on May 8. Thank you to Ms. Domanik, Mr. Harmon, and Mr. Milton for judging all the contestants and holding them to high standards for performance. Pictures of the exhibit will be on our web site soon.

Our first ever Science Fair was awesome. We had a variety of experiments ranging from sizzling volcanoes to tooth decay to robots. Great job to the students and thank you to Ms. Domanik, Mr. Harmon, and Mr. Milton for the great job in judging the contestants. Winners will be informed on Monday just before school ends.
