Announcements and Assignments for Wednesday

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope you are all well. As every one should be aware, Grand Canyon Prep has adopted a tutoring program for its Core Subjects on Monday and Wednesday. However, as the first couple of weeks have progressed, we found that a substantial portion of the students in tutoring were students who had not submitted their assignments which have been due. At a faculty meeting last Friday, we refined the after school-tutoring program. Starting on September 24, 2007, students who have difficulty in mastering the concepts and themes of the subject matter will be invited into tutoring. Those students who have not turned in their assignments after September 24, 2007 will lose ten percent of the assignments worth per day until it is turned in. Assignments that were due in the two weeks prior to September 24, 2007 and have not been turned in must be turned in by Wednesday or they will not receive any credit. Furthermore, the students will serve in Lunch or After School Detention until the missing assignment or assignments are completed. Families will be called to notify them that their child is in detention. The first lunch detention is scheduled for Wednesday. Please have your child pack a cold lunch, as they will be expected to immediately report to lunch detention. If the student does not immediately report for lunch or after school detention, they may be suspended. Finally, we will supply all students who have at least two incompletes as of the first quarter progress report with weekly assignment charts that must be filled in by the student and turned in to Mrs. Gordon with a Parents Signature every Monday.
