Announcements and Assignments for Monday

We hope you are all well.

The Hiking Club, sponsored by Mr. Grago, will be journeying to Sedona, tomorrow. We wish them a safe and fun trip.

Ms. Domaink, Mr. Milton, and Mr. Harmon will be sponsoring Science Fair Projects for next semester.

Families who would like to lock in the fees for the Japan and Italy/ Spain trip should send in their enrollment application to EF Tours along with a check (made to EF Tours) for $95.00 by September 30. If you miss the deadline, you may still come on the trip but you may be subject to increased departure fess.

There will be an assembly on October First to recognize the students perfect attendance and a grade of A. We will also distribute Apple laptops to last year honor roll winners.

The League of Students is sponsoring a Pot Luck on Thursday. Please be part of it and enjoy the festivities.

Families of students who have below C grades in any course are invited to attend parent teacher conferences on Tuesday or call to make appointments with Mrs. Burnquist or Ms. Domanik.

The School raised $115 at the fundraising dinner at NYPD Pizza earlier this month. The school will be hosting another fundraising dinner at Papa Razzinis on October 7 and at Sweet Tomatoes on October 28. We hope you can attend.

With the publication of Science AIMS results in the Arizona Republic, we thought it appropriate to remind our families that Grand Canyon Prep Eighth Grade Students equalled or surpassed the State or Charter School averages in all the subjects of Reading (93 percent) Writing (71 percent), Math ( 64 percent) and Science (72 percent).

We are also excited to announce that Grand Canyon Prep is putting together a team of high school students where three of them will appear on the Cox Cable Show Brainstorm. The team now consists of Alyssa Brimacombe, Alexis Hernandez, Clifford Alexander, Don Arbgast, Bobby Diaz,Andrew Gallini, Christopher Kampsen, Nathan Kielsky, D.J. Owsley and Joseph Spadafino. Taping will take place on December 9 and the show will be broadcast in January. More information will follow.

We had a fantastic school fundraiser last night at NYPD Pizza in Chandler. The servers commented that they rarely have waiting lines on Tuesday. Thanks to every one for supporting our school.

Grand Canyon Prep is hosting a fundraiser dinner at NYPD on Tuesday September 9. Coupons were sent with the monthly newsletter. Please come and support our school.

Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura will be speaking at Changing Hands Bookstore on Wednesday September 10. at 7:00 p.m.

Students interested in Odyssey of the Mind are invited to a meeting with Mrs. Nichol and Mr. Gordon on Tuesday September 9 at 8:00 a.m.
